Ancient Paths - Types & Shadows (Enoch)

Ecclesiastes 1:9

New King James Version

9 That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.

Remember if something is in the Old Testament concealed it must be in the New Testament revealed! If there is something as unique and unusual as someone being translated to heaven without seeing death because as Hebrews 11:5 says “he pleased God”…then there must be something equally unique in the New Testament that this OT event points to that is even more far reaching and profound in its fulfillment!

What has been is that which shall be! Eccles 1:9 – COMMON THEMES…EVERYTHING IS CYCLICAL

When studying God’s Word – look for common themes and dig a little deeper to see if there really is a relationship.

Line upon line, here a little and there a little…when we find scriptures in the Old Testament that seem to use similar language or phrases as some scriptures in the New then we should recognize that there probably is a prophetic relationship between them.

I’ve heard many folks that do not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture say that it’s just not scriptural…but here is a very clear example in my opinion of a OT type and shadow that points to the Bride of Christ (the church or righteous assembly) being taken before God poors out His wrath on this earth.

Also, it's obvious from the scriptures regarding Noah that some were saved "thru" or during the flood or judgement of God.  This type and shadow also has a NT fulfillment as stated in Revelation...they will be preserved by God.

Incidentally, where did this prophecy come from – Jude had to have got it from somewhere??

There is a "Book of Enoch" that is an "extra-Biblical" reference that actually contai ns this same prophecy. As with any source outside the Bible, it should be handled with caution and should be compared with the scripture for reliability.

Please research this yourself and let me know what u think. Also note that the Son does appear until He was born in Bethlehem. Also see John 14 and Isaiah 9:6.

3) 1 John 5:7 I believe was added by the Roman church to lend support to the Trinity doctrine. Research shows it was not in the original Greek texts.cont:
